Good Samaritan Open Table - Sunday February 22nd

  • Please share with your e-list to invite folks to share this meal.
  • Know you are well thought of if receive this invitation more than once!
  • Help us to help others, in His name.
  • Good Samaritans of Fannin County, Inc
     Good  Samaritan  Open  Table

  • You are invited to share a meal of greens, beans and cornbread at the Good Samaritan Open Table after church on Sunday February 22nd.   The February meal will be served from noon to 3:00 pm in the fellowship hall of the Blue Ridge Methodist Church.  Proceeds help fund the benevolent works of the Good Samaritans of Fannin County, an interdenominational association of Fannin County area churches.   No charge is made for the meal but those who choose are encouraged to make a donation.
  • Funds raised at Labor Day BBQ and donations from area churches are distributed by the Good Sam benevolent committee for Fannin County families and individuals in need. Since last fall, Good Sam has seen a record increase in the number of requests for financial assistance for utilities, medicine, rent and food.  Additional funding is critically needed at this time to help us help others, in His name.
  • Come enjoy a faith-full opportunity to open your hearts and arms in love, charity and Christian fellowship.  All are welcome at the Open Table.  Let us especially remember to invite neighbors in need or without transportation as well as our family and friends to come to the table.
  • For over twenty five years, the interdenominational Good Samaritan churches have worked side by side with the Department of Family and Childrens Services and the Fannin County Community Action Agency in ministering to families and individuals in our county.  The Good Samaritan Open Table serves as a collection site for nonperishable items such as canned meats, fruits, vegetables and boxed meal items. Items that folks bring to the Open Table will help restock the Community Action food pantry.
  • Gifts or donations in excess of the value of the Open Table meal are considered tax deductible to an association of churches by the IRS.  Checks may also be mailed to POB 1865 in Blue Ridge and made out to the Good Samaritans with a lower left notation of Open Table.  Gifts of time or service are truly welcome and spirit filled volunteers are encouraged to call 706 455 3818.
